SUIT & TIE
In 2013, Justin Timberlake returned to music after a six-year hiatus. Nearing the completion of The 20/20 Experience we were brought into the studio to help define the visual world around the music and the moment — something that could match Justin’s evolution in tone, voice, and presence. Working closely with him, we developed a creative framework that would carry through every expression of the release: photography, video, campaign, and tour.
That framework led to a pivotal idea: reuniting Timberlake with David Fincher.
The result was Suit & Tie, a music video directed by Fincher and featuring Jay-Z. The video marked Fincher's first return to the format since 2005. We worked to produce the project in secrecy for weeks prior to production: concept development, creative planning, and the recruitment of a brand partner to secure additional financing.
Suit & Tie went on to win the Grammy for Best Music Video and the MTV VMA for Best Director.
